Paint Correction
Paint correction is a professional machine polishing process that removes surface-level defects from your vehicle's clear coat — including swirl marks, light scratches, water spots, and oxidation. The result is a deeper, clearer, more reflective finish that looks better than a standard detail or car wash can achieve.
The easiest way to tell is to look at your paint in direct sunlight or under a bright light. If you notice swirl marks, haze, dull patches, or fine scratches, your paint would benefit from correction. Darker colored vehicles tend to show these imperfections more clearly than lighter ones.
A one step correction uses a single polishing stage to address light to moderate defects, achieving 40–85% correction. A two step correction adds a compounding phase first to tackle heavier imperfections, followed by a polishing phase to refine the finish — achieving up to 85–99% correction. The right choice depends on the current condition of your paint.
Paint correction removes defects that are within the clear coat layer. Scratches that have penetrated through the clear coat and into the base coat or primer cannot be fully corrected through polishing alone and may require touch-up paint or panel respray. During your service, we assess the depth of defects and give you an honest evaluation of what can be achieved.
Absolutely — paint correction and ceramic coating are the perfect combination. Correction restores your paint to its best possible condition, and ceramic coating then locks in that finish with a durable, hydrophobic layer of protection that can last years. Applying ceramic coating over uncorrected paint would seal in the defects, which is why correction should always come first.
Depending on the size of the vehicle and the level of correction needed, a one step correction typically takes 4–6 hours, while a two step correction can take 6–10 hours or more. We take the time needed to do the job right — never rushing the process at the expense of the final result.
